Chattahooche Brick Co.

The CSAW Community Mapping Lab's collaboration with the Chattahoochee Brick Co. Descendants Coalition (CBCDC) is focused on using GIS to visualize environmental justice threats to the communities surrounding the Chattahoochee Brick Co. site. These visualizations will be used to communicate to the public and policymakers the threats that these hazards pose. Ultimately, this initiative will assist CBCDC in advocating for the preservation of the CBC site as a memorial and greenspace and fighting the further industrial development and pollution of the area. Future extensions of the work include soil testing, water quality monitoring, and ecological surveys of flora and fauna at the CBC site.
