Project Description

The Data Centers Project empowers communities to identify the type and extent of data center development plans they are confronting, while increasing community awareness of the environmental risks associated with data centers in their communities and access to information and tools that will help community members lower the impacts of these pollutants on the environment and on their health.

Data Center Research Group

Championed by CSAW Affiliate Faculty Fellow Carrie Freshour of Georgia State University, the Data Center Research Group aims to collect information about the impacts and goals of data center development in Dekalb County and distribute it to the affected communities.

Strategic Planning to Achieve Data Center Prohibition in Dekalb County

Championed by CSAW MS Fellow Austin Kral, this initiative aims to conduct an environmental assessment in conjunction with Dekalb Water Watch to demonstrate the uneven water infrastructure and economic development of communities targeted for data center development.
